I did a paper test first and the scent journey went from citrusy floral to this wave of floral – I can’t really pinpoint what type it was – but then became this delicious vanilla that reminds me of a certain scent I know. I almost had a headache trying to recall what perfume I was thinking about. BUT HOW CAN I FORGET?!?! This is like a BBW Midnight Pomegranate lotion if it were in a bottle. And that was my lotion a decade ago – was my signature scent that people would know I’m in the area (I used to layer that with Clinique Happy and it was a powerful combo).

I haven’t tried Nishane’s HSW yet so I can’t offer any comparative reviews. But on its own, I love how it brought me back to that Midnight Pomegranate scent which I absolutely adore (and I am sad it’s been discontinued). The citrusy, sweet vanilla checks out. On my skin, initially I got the same floral with a hint of tart/citrus. I can smell a bit of the orange but it’s not so defined (reminds me of Clinique Happy but make it a warmer, darker version because Clinique Happy is light and bright). Then it dries down to this creamy and delicious vanilla with a hint of citrus. I was worried that the Midnight Pomegranate-like scent will be too strong because as much as I loved that lotion, I can’t imagine smelling like that for straight 2 hours. I sprayed this on my left wrist and Fluidity on the right – I think it’s a good combo! Will try layering them on next time
